Yesterday our world lost a beautiful woman. God, in His Sovereignty, chose to take my grandmother from our Earth to a place of no more pain, no more hurt, no more confusion, no more suffering; to a place called heaven. Though we rejoice during this time knowing that she is resting peacefully within the arms of Glory, we mourn the loss of a beloved and irreplaceable member of our family. Her quick wit, humor, and unending love will be greatly missed and cherished in our hearts forever.
Though we know Jesus conquered death on the cross, death still has a certain sting each time it touches us. I am challenged by the example of Jesus to weep, mourn, love, and laugh during this time. I am challenged to draw nearer to the family that God has blessed me with as we carry this weight together.
May you go home to those that love you tonight and hug them a little bit tighter. May you spend time with them creating beautiful memories that will endure the troubles that this life will bring us. And may you find joy in the life that God has blessed you with.
